What is time?

I started looking through some of these old folders and notebooks and what have you in my room when I was cleaning, and I came across this green photo album (which by the way I didn't use as a photo album) When I open it says "Ashley's Book of Junk" no lie I'm kind of strange like that. Anyways, what it is...is an album where I made each page about something like: an eminem page (I was obsessed with him at one point), stickers that have attitude (I may be slow, but your a moron with a picture of a turtle), a page with pictures of books, a page with dogs, old admission tickets, and some other odd things. I came to one page though that I like, and thought this would make for an interesting post. (Let's face it I have nothing else to do anyway right. Total sarcasm you guys.) This one page I titled "Time". (See picture to the right) I wanted to share with you all what they say because people sometimes take for granted those little things. Things that maybe don't really matter to them, but when you stop and think about it...it matters a lot to those experiencing it.

To realize the value of ONE YEAR
ask a student who has failed his exam.
To realize the value of ONE MONTH
Ask a mother who has given birth to a pre-mature baby
To realize the value of ONE WEEK
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper
To realize the value of ONE DAY
Ask a daily wage laborer who has ten kids to feed
To realize the value of ONE HOUR
Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet
To realize the value of ONE MINUTE
Ask the person who has missed the train
To realize the value of ONE SECOND
Ask a person who has survived an accident
To realize the value of ONE MILLI-SECOND
Ask the person who has one a silver medal in the Olympics
See we have to value what time we have because we never know. (Is this sounding a a little morbid? Sorry if it is I'm not meaning for it to.)

Another thought for you...

Imagine there is a bank which credits your account each morning with $86,400 carries over no balance from day to day, allows you to keep no cash balance, and every morning cancels whatever part of the amount you had failed to use during the day.

What would you do?.....Draw out every cent, of course!
Well, everyone has such a bank. Its name is TIME.
Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds.
Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purposes.
It carries over no balance.
It allows no overdraft.
Each day it opens a new account for you.
Each night it burns the records of the day.
If you fail to use the day's deposit the loss is yours.
There is no going back.
There is no drawing against the "Tomorrow"
You must live in the present on today's deposit.
Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success!
The clock is running.
Make the most of today.

You may delay, but time will not wait
.-Benjamin Franklin
Treasure every moment you have!
And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special...special enough to have your time, and remember time waits for no one.

  1. I am in love with all of these quotes but on the other hand, they are so so hard to live by. I think humans are just predisposed to be massive time wasters. I know I am anyway.
