THE CALL

It was 1 in the morning
when I got the call
They said that a car
had hit the wall
and at that time
I didnt know
it was you....
my best friend...

How fast
were you going...
How much
did you drink....
I told you before
but you never
stopped to think
You loved
the thought of going fast
The need to feel
that you were free
And now that may
have been your last....

They said they were
taking you in
You know I'll be there
with you till the end
They told me you
had lost a lot of blood
and that time with you
was running short
I didn't realize it now
But I could have stopped
this awful fate...
If only I knew...
