I discuss

Sometimes I get in the mood to chat about something bookish so this is where I will be adding those. If you have any suggestions on what could be discussed just leave me a comment below. I am totally game for anything.

Movies
More than anything these will probably be movies that were turned into movies that I've seen, and decided I would put my two sense in about. Ex: The Host, Beautiful Creatures.

If you haven't noticed sometimes I tend to go on a rambling spree because of something completely unrelated to books whether it's my job, family, friends, or life in general. I try to be as personable on my site as I can because to me it shows everyone that I'm real. If that makes any sense. -shrugs-

Book to Movie News: Incarceron

Link here
The final two "Twilight Saga" films might be shooting right now, but Taylor Lautner isn't ready to give up on the young adult genre quite yet. Deadline is reporting that Taylor has signed up to star in the big screen adaptation of another up-and-coming YA novel, "Incarceron." The storyline of the novel and its soon-to-be-released sequel, "Sapphique," is a lot darker than "The Twilight Saga"'s, and it also doesn't find Taylor transforming into a big cuddly wolf every two seconds (though hopefully there will be plenty of shirtlessness).
"Incarceron" follows the story of Finn, a boy raised in the brutal Incarceron prison, sealed off from the rest of the world. His fate is to escape the prison, and he gets his chance when he receives a special crystal key. He meets up with several companions and journeys to find a way to escape.
But the story of Claudia, daughter of the warden of Incarceron, is being told simultaneously. She is trapped in the Realm, which is a world modeled after the 17th century where advanced science and technology are prohibited. She finds the crystal key at the same time Finn does, and it allows them to communicate and try to create an escape plan.

The film is being written by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage, who wrote the upcoming films "Tower Heist," "Moby Dick" and "Moses." That's quite an array of subjects for one writing duo to cover, so we're hoping that bodes well for "Incarceron"'s final version. No director has been tapped for the film yet, and no actress has come on board to play Claudia (though we're sure there will be plenty interested now that Taylor's involved).
Taylor's already attached to the upcoming "Stretch Armstrong" film, which will likely turn into a franchise if it's successful, so it's interesting that he chose to come on board for "Incarceron." We're guessing that author Catherine Fisher has at least one more installment to release after "Sapphique," so that means Taylor's going to be in this for at least two more films.
That being said, we are totally not complaining. "Incarceron" sounds like an awesomely dark and twisted story, and we love seeing Taylor as a leading man. Hopefully it will give him a better chance to show off his acting chops than "Twilight" did, and fingers crossed there's just as many opportunities to be half-naked.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I actually haven't yet read these books. (They are both on my shelf though) that being said I can't tell if Taylor would be good cast as Finn, but I can say that I adore him as Jacob. He always seems so sweet in the interviews that I watch. It would be interesting to see him step out of his Wolfey character. I'm definitely all for it. What do you all think?

Book to Movie News: Wake Series

I found this posted from Lisa McManns' Facebook.
Here's what she said: Lisa mcMann-Ran across this article today. Yep, I find out news of the WAKE movie just like you do -- by accident. :) This is encouraging to hear Chris talk about working on it.

Screenwriter Christopher Landon (Disturbia, Paranormal Activity 2) spoke with Shock Till You Drop today about his directorial debut, the horror anthology Burning Palms and updated us on the status of his next script, Wake, a supernatural thriller based on the book series by Lisa McMann.

"It's sort of a vehicle for Miley Cyrus," Landon says, "She is looking to sort of get out of her cutesy Hannah Montana image, which she's actually doing quite well. She wanted to do something a little edgier and a little darker, so we're making this movie hopefully...It's about a teenage girl who has a rare form of narcalepsy. When she's within a certain distance of someone sleeping, she passes out and goes into their dreams."

Though the source material is young adult fare, Landon says that both it and the film version don't fall far from the horror genre.

"It definitely has a spooky element to it," he says, "It's slightly origin-story-esque... She sees it as a curse. You know, something that she keeps very secret and hidden and, as a result, has sort of isolated herself. Then, through circumstance she ends up having to embrace it. She has to use it to solve a crime, if you will. It's fun. We get to really play with the visual kind of thing. It's not like 'Inception' where it's very consistent because we're going in and out of so many different people's dreams and nobody dreams alike. Some of it will be animated. Some of it will be really, really big with epic-looking stuff. And sometimes she lands in a dream where absolutely fucking nothing is happening which, you know, is very true to life."

I actually think this is pretty cool that these books will be turned into movies. I really love the whole idea of the book and the dreaming aspect of it. I wasn't particularly fond of Janie, but I haven't read the others two books (I need to do that) so I'm hoping that I'll like her a little better in the others. I like Cabel though, and it would be interesting to see who they would get to play him. If you read the books who would you choose to play him? I honestly don't know I'm not good remembering actors/actresses name and what not. As for Miley playing the lead. Hum? I'm going to have to say I can't really see her acting the part, but I could be wrong. I can honestly say that I like Miley. I have nothing against her. I think Hannah Montana was a cute disney show. (Okay no hating me for this) I liked her in The Last Song, and I thought she did well. I guess it's just seeing her put into this character. I don't know. LOL. I'm torn.

What do you all think about it?

My books :) I need to get Gone now.

Ten good things on a monday (Movie edition)

This is a Newish Meme hosted by Nina over at Brush Up On Your Reading.
I thought it looked like fun to do, and I love movies. Although, it says you can make your own list I believe. I'm going to go with the list she made. It's ten good things on a Monday: 2011 movies I want to see.
It's funny because a few weeks ago my sister in law and I were going through some of the sequels coming out this year for some of the our favorite firsts like cars, PotC, Xmen, Transformers, and so forth. So with that being said.

My list:
  1. Pirates of the Caribbean 4: Seriously, need I say more about this one. I'm kind of sad that some of the other characters won't be in it, but Sparrow will so it's all good :( I love Captian Sparrow ok well really I like Johnny Depp. Plus it has zombies, and mermaids. May 20,2011
  2. Season of the witch: I saw the previews for this on an awards show I was watching then I saw the other regular previews. It looks really good, and it has the paranormal like aspect to it. If that makes any sense. January 7,2011 (So it's already out)
  3. I am Number four: I actually didn't know this was a book until recently, but it looks really good. It actually sounds like a tv show that used to come on called Rosewell, but anyways should be cool. Feb 18,2011
  4. Jane Eyre: I saw this on the list, and although I haven't read the book old or new. I really want to, and with a movie coming it out I always like to see the movie and then read the book if possible to see people's take on them. March 11,2011
  5. Little Red Riding Hood: It's produced by Catherine Hardicke (Twilight producer) so hopefully it would be good. Plus another telling of LRRH could be interesting. March 11,2011
  6. Beastly: It just looks interesting. :) March 18,2011
  7. Fast and the Furious 5: Ok ok I know there's alot of these right, but it actually has the 2 original people in it Vin Diesel, and Paul Walker. Not to mention I loved all the others. April 29,2011
  8. Transformers 3: I've loved both the transformers before so it's only naturally that I want to see the third. Plus, no Megan Fox in this one. (Sorry I'm not a fan of hers) July 1,2011
  9. The Smurfs: OMG! I saw this as a preview during another movie I watched, and was excited. I remember watching the smurfs when I was little, and loved Papa Smurf, Smurfette, and I can't think of the others. This should be a really cute movie. July 29,2011
  10. Gnomeo and Juliet: Ok I know this is a cartoon, but it looks adorable I saw the previews at another movie I was watching. A movie about gnomes how cute. February 11,2011
This was really, really hard to pick ten that I wanted to see because well you still have HP 7: the second part which duh I have to see. Then you have the Breaking Dawn beginning: a must. Also it looked like a few others that are sequels, and tri-quels (Is that even a word. lol) are coming out too. I was overwhelmed with the awesomeness of movie coming out this year. My poor wallet between the new books and new movies. I'm already completely broke. :)

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Movie

I know this is book site, but seeing how technically this is also a book I'm putting it up here. :)
Well I'm one of the many crazy people probably who went to the Thursday midnight showing of the movie. (I honestly thought more peole would be dressed up but I only saw a few) My Sister in Law and me got to the theatre at 9 because I didn't get off til 830. Anyways by the time we got there they were letting people in so we didn't have to wait in line outside in the cold windy air. Apparently all the theatres were playing the movie too and they were all sold out. Who would've thought? So we sat there patiently waiting for 12 to come around. Ten minutes before it was time you heard everypne yelling "ten more minutes" then 5minutes came same thing "5 more minutes" It was great. As soon as it started everyone was yelling. Craziness I tell you!

Don't worry I'm not going to give anything away because well I'm not. I will say that alot of the stuff I had completely forgotten about. That's sad! I'm thinking maybe I need to go back and read the book before I see part 2 next year which I hate by the way. I don't want to have to wait for next June or July whenever it's coming out. :(  I thought that it would be a lot darker then it was. It actually had the theatre laughing alot. It has most the characters you love to hate, and then some. It basically is Harry, Ron , and Hermione traveling to find the Horocuxes (I think I spelled that wrong oh well) and wrapped in that there's some action, saddness, and romance.

I can already tell you I'll be seeing again because I told a friend of mine I'd go with her. There's some movies that are worth the price to see again.

Part 2 you must hurry and get here!!!!!!

So have you seen it yet? If so how many times do you plan on seeing it?

Can I ever have a good day? (random rant)

I have to get this out somewhere, and I figured what better place then here. Besides, my "personal blog" that is. This is my rant for the week. That is unless my week keeps going this wonderful way *note sarcasm* Minor cussing just FYI.

I'm telling you I'm not having a very good week right now. Let's just start off by saying that Monday I had to work right...well two people call in one that was suppose to work in the morning with me and then one that was suppose to work at night. I'm sorry but I come to work feeling shitty almost all the time. Sides killing me, congested, feeling like I'm going barf. Do I ever call in? No because I know how much of a hassle it is for my co-workers. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying come to work deathly ill, but when you make it a habit to do it. It gets a little old. I'm also sure that unless your husband is dying (he's wasn't by the way) that calling in for that reason is stupid. So let's just say that in itself really pissed me off especially on a Monday in a Pharmacy. So be it that I was already in a bad mood why would someone (our pharmacist) sit there and tell the two of us that showed up that we weren't going fast enough, that we weren't doing it that right way, and that he'd rather have his other tech that can "do everything" here. Let me see what's wrong with this picture. One: the tech his refering to isn't as good as he thinks she is she leaves things just like the rest of us do. (I'm not tryin to be mean) Two: I DO NOT like being compared to other people or co-workers at all. I'm sorry I do things my way. The way that works best for me not anyone else. I must say it's worked for me for the past 5 years I've done it. Not to mention not a single one of us is alike. We all have our good/bad qualities about us when it comes to how we work. GET THE HELL OVER IT!  Three: DO NOT in any way think after you've treated me like crap for the past 8 hours that I'm going to stick around and help you because you need it. You're damn lucky one of us stayed an extra hour and helped after your comments. So yeah you're right I won't "take one for the team" if after everything I did manage to do gets put down. Can I remind you that we had things caught up just fine. So Whatever! Maybe I should've stayed and helped, but I was to much in a pissy mood to try and be nice to the workers who didn't piss me off and to the people (our lovely customers..no sarcasm there I promise) and I think I showed.
Then today one of the same people that called in yesterday and was suppose to come in this morning again with me wasn't there when I showed up at 9. Our other pharmacist (god bless her) worked for an hour by herself. The girl called in because she felt bad today had a headache...a headache.. I work with freakin' headaches all the time like yesterday! I'm thinking maybe just maybe I need to call in and be "sick". I must I give props to the afternoon girl that called in yesterday. She came and helped today. I know I'm being a little bitchy right now. I'm just tired of it. *shrugs*

So these have been my two days of pure and total "Happiness".
Any comments, ideas, suggestions, weapons I could use? :) *just kidding*
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm sitting here typing all this right, and I look over to my right side and see all my books sitting there waiting to be read. I really need to read. I'm about done with Paranormalcy I'll probably finish it tonight and put up my review, but I don't know what take-a-long-book to read next. I'm thinking maybe I should finish like two that I have 100 or so more pages to read. They're kind of just sitting patiently. I keep wanting to read them and I get interested in another book. So here's where I stand with books I've started but kind of stopped: Vanished by Tess Gerritsen (I've been on this book for quite some time now. It's a detective like book) I have like 100 pages or so left. Then there's wicked by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie. I have like 150 pages more of that one. (It's a witchy book) Then Hunger Games book 1. I have like 250 pages more. (I couldn't get into it), and Generation Dead I'm on page 10. :) Oh also the darkest evening of the year but I don't have that book with me it's at home on th ebookshelf..So I think before I start another book I need to finish these. Humm where to start. I'm thinking maybe tomorrow would be a good day to stay home and read. So as to not buy any more books (I'm going to try so hard. I don't have gas in my car so it might be easy). I know it's bad when my sister in law came over (with my brother and the kids of course) and said I need to stop buying books and read what I have. :) She said "maybe you should finish reading all the books you have, and until you do that don't buy anymore. Well except for Last Sacrifice in December" because we all know I'm getting that the day it comes out. Also I have to get my Night Star that came out today.

Now that I have totally bored you with my complete and total randomness beyond anything for today. I shall try and finish my book. Then wander around blogville here or maybe watch one of the two movies I rented Marmaduke or The last air bender.

Peace ya'll
Ashley
