Movie Review: The Duff

I had hopes that I would enjoy the movie a lot more than the book because it seems to work that way for me. If I disliked the book for some reason, and the movie is made I end up loving the movie (The fault in our stars, the hunger games) The Duff was no exception to this rule

I actually enjoyed the movie. It was a lot more comical then I remember the book being which was a good thing because it needed something that the book didn't have.

There were somethings that were WAY different then the book. I'm assuming they changed some stuff up because it was a bit much.

What was different
-If I'm not mistaken Bianca lived with her dad in a small apartment, and her dad was a drunk.
-Bianca and Wes had an agreement that was more physical then anything.

Movie Review: The Fault in Our Stars

Hazel and Gus are two teenagers who share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them on a journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous given that Hazel's other constant companion is an oxygen tank, Gus jokes about his prosthetic leg, and they met and fell in love at a cancer support group.

Ashley's Review

I feel like a late bloomer here having just watched it for the first time a few days ago. I kept wanting to watch with the husband, but I gave up on that and decided to watch it by myself so I could see what the fuss was about it. I will admit that when I read the book I didn't cry like most people said they did. For that reason alone I thought my feelings towards the movie would be about the same as the book. 

I was wrong. 

There were a few points in the movie that I caught myself wiping tears from my eyes. The one that comes to mind first is Hazel sitting in front of the swing set.

The one things I noticed (at least I think) is Isaac didn't seem to be in the movie all that much. I could have sworn he was in the book a lot more then that. I adored Isaac's character so I was sad he didn't get a bigger part.

I think they did a great job with the casting. I adore Shailene as Hazel, and after I watched this I had to watch Divergent.

If you haven't watched this and are a late bloomer like me I would recommend it. 

Book to Movie: The Fault in Our Stars Edition

I'm sure as of now everyone has seen the awesomeness that is The Fault in our Stars movie trailer. If you haven't then why the hell not?

So now that you have seen it what do you think about it?
I think it looks awesome in a sad kind of way. I know everyone has said that if they've read the book they've cried. If they've watched this trailer they had tears. I'm going to say that I'm really not some soul-less person but I didn't cry. Then again it takes A LOT to make me cry at movies or while reading books. (People cried during titanic. I just wanted the movie to be over.) Maybe, once I see the whole movie I'll talk a different talk.

Now days so many of our beloved books are turning into movies that it's hard to keep track of it all. I know I have an especially hard time keeping up with the still photos, movie trailers, casting and all those little things that make our books come to life. I thought to make it easier I'd give each book to movie (that I know of) it's own page here with everything I listed above and maybe more.

• The Maze Runner (September 19,2014)

One of those changes are the book covers. We usually see those changes made from the hardcover book to it's paperback partner or even from the US cover to another countries cover. I try to be as personable on my site as I can because to me it shows everyone that I'm real. If that makes any sense. -shrugs-

Books to movies: What do you think?

Hey readers! I figured with all our favorite books turning into movies I would do a recap of what's being made into movies this year and the begining of next. I know I'm pretty freakin' excited for some of them, and the others I haven't read the books but I know I will soon.

Book number 1: The one that I could literally jump and down for and do flips (ok not really, but you see how EXCITED I am.) All I ever wanted since I read the first book was a movie to come out, and now come Feb 14 of next year it's out. Here's the link to IMDB's page for it Vampire Academy.

Book 2: Is the second one in the series, and I have to admit I enjoyed the movie more then I thought I would. I think I liked it more then the book. I am curious to see what they do with ths movie seeing as how I didn't really enjoy the second book either. Catching Fire comes out November 22,2013 Here's the link from IMDB's site Catching fire.

Book3: Is also a second movie the first being Percy Jackson and the lightning thief, I actually enjoyed the movie alot so I'm pretty excited for this movie as well. I have all the books in the series I need to read them though. Percy Jackson and the sea of Monsters comes  at August 7, 2013. Book 4: The first movie of a six book set. The Mortal Instruments: City of bones. I've read the first 3 books and loved them so I'm excited to see how the movie plays out. Out August 21, 2013. City of bones IMDB site.

Book 5: The maze Runner, although I haven't read the books yet they sound really good, and the thought of a movie being made is pretty cool. It says it's in production now and it's release date is Feb 14, 2014. Hopefully we will beseeing about it soon. IMDBs Maze Runner link

Book 6: Divergent, another futuristic story set to be released in March of 2014. I've read the first two books and pretty much loved them so knowing this is going to be a movie is cool. IMDB link for Divergent.

I'm always thrilled to learn that some of my favorite (or not so favorite books) are going to be made into movies/shows/you get the picture. I wanted to be able to help you find the info you need as well. It may not always be up to date, but just a little inside sometime helps. Below I categorized them into sections. Books turned into movies are ones that have actual release dates for the theaters. Possible books to movies are books that I have seen articles that maybe there will be one in the works, or have a way later date set like 2015.
