Weekend Lovelies (Yes this is my daily what the haps)

Alright, it is time again for another one of my ramblings. I know you all probably get sick of them, but I like to update even if there's no need to. I feel like I should have something on here to keep all of...whoever reads these in the know. I always have a way of tying it in with books...usually!

OH THE THINGS YOU BUY

 I did go to my wonderful, favorite store EVER, and bought some stuff. I bought quite a few movies this time though because who can beat 3 dollars. Some movies I've seen like The House Bunny, Jeff Dunham: Arguing with myself (hilarious comedian BTW!), and Fired Up. Then I got Catch that Kid (curious to see Kristen Stewart in it), and Step up 2 (I have the first so it's only fitting right?), and then Heroes Season 2 (3 bucks man! Although I might already own it I can't remember. If I do I'll either sell it or give it away to someone) and last Friends Season 4 (I'm slowly but surely getting my friends season. There's what like 10 I think so 6 more to go). Oh I did get a few books too. :) Those will be up in a future IMM like always. I love going to HPB to because the workers there are always friendly, and they'll talk to you about whatever it is you're buying that day. Like the movies and stuff I bought my cashier was going on about the house bunny saying how he didn't think he'd enjoy, but after watching it he did. LOL.

Today is the day I finally got a library card. I know right! You would have thought that being obsessive and all with books now I would have done it awhile back. I guess I was being lazy, and not wanting to drive to where it was which is stupid because I drive near when I see my brother. I also owe it to my brother because he took his kids back a week or so ago to get them one, and told me about it. (I was thrilled I want my nieces to love books like I do) I finally told him today to come with me, and a library monster was born. :) I went into the library, and I swear when I went to the YA section I just about fainted. There were all these books I have on my list for free. (I'm sure I'll end up buying them sometime because that's just me) Still I wanted like a bunch, but seeing how I just got the card I could only pick 2 books. Boy, was that a hard decision. I wanted the Wonderous strange books, the sky is everywhere, the fat vampire, Prom, Wintergirls, and so many more. I finally had to settle on two which I've been wanting Nevermore by Kelly Creagh, and North of Beautiful by Justina Headley. I think I'm liking this idea because it gives me a time frame which to read the books so maybe I'll get more reading done this way. If I just go, and buy the book I kind of set it aside and wait. No more of that...nope..nope! After I picked my books out we (my brother and two nieces Hayley 7 and Karlie 4) stayed there a bit and let the girls look around, and enjoy the computer, and other things they had, and I of course read Nevermore since it's a big book I figured I'd start.

I actually started reading Nevermore in the library because I've wanted to read it since it came out last year. I'll probably end up buying it, but for now I'm content.
Then I got North of Beautiful because I've heard some really good things out it as well, and of course I think cover is pretty.

When we were through at the library we went to the my old Elementary school's playground to let the kids play (and me read some). I learned that I'm out of shape I raced with the girls, and it was not pretty (I guess it doesn't help if you have been coughing) The oldest one beat me, but I stayed a little behind with the younger one because she kept saying ashley wait for me. How could I just leave her? I waited and ran beside her. These children are very full of energy. Even the youngest who is almost 2 was running around non-stop. She was all her daddy's responsibility though. Haha. I mean you see the picture on the side right? Well she ran all the way to the back. Nothing but little kid energy. Oh to be young like that again. :)

MY NEW BANNER *points up* Thanks and credit to Small Review.

What book are you most looking forward to seeing published in 2011?  Why are you anticipating that book?Really I can only choose one? I actually read the first chapters of Wildefire by Karsten Knight,(I think I'm gonna like Ash and Her older sister Eve). Find the chp at Simon and Schuster, and Original Sin by Lisa D. and totally fell in love all over again with Luc, Gabe, and Frannie. Oh and Matt too. Sign up at Tors to read that chapter. Then as I've posted in a few other things this week. I read the first two chapters in Vegas Dazzle and was wanting to read more. :) Sorry I couldn't choose between these. I mean you get to read a few parts, and BAM! You're hooked. 

What is/was your favorite subject in school?

 When I was in school I would have probably answered this a completely different way then how I would now. I wasn't fond of any subject really. Math, science, and Social Studies were never for me. I liked art in elementary. Middle school I had a few computer classes that I enjoyed. In high school I still liked Art. The one of my years I had a teaching class where half the class we learned about teaching and the second half we actually were assigned an elementary school and a classroom to go to and act as a teacher for that hour or so. I loved that class. I had first graders, and they were the cutest kids ever. I still remember things I was able to teach them. I sat in reading groups with them, and listened. I had them write little stories. One story I had them write was if you were in the 3 little pigs story what would you make your house out of? They wrote and drew pcitures of their choices. I probably still have that stuff somehwere. Then come the end of the year they made little goodbye and thank you cards for me. I loved it. I remember one card imparticular that I swear it look like the child had written S-E-X on it.I wish I could find it and post the pic. Anyway off topic. I think now with all this stuff I've done. I would say english probably would have been a fun class. :)

OMG! Seriously. *squeals* I got a banner look...look. *points up to it* I AB-SO-LUTE-LY adore it. Many, many, MANY thanks to Small Review you are awesome without a doubt. This is very much what I was looking for, or shall I say what my brain had pictured. You've been very helpful. You can bet that if I have a question about how to do something on here, I'll probably come to you. :) or read one of your how-to posts.

I even put it as my laptop background. Heheh

<---This is how much I liked it. *points to the left* I see changes to the blog in the very near future now that I have a pre-tay banner. It's time for background changing and the pages above to be messed around with. By which I mean I'm now thinking drop downs. Is that possible on here? That way I can remove some of the tabs and have them as sub tabs. Does that make sense? Time to get me a lil button to match the banner so I'm not just a link, but a graphic. I know I'm very question-ey tonight.

So on to other things I actually did a waiting on wed thing if you haven't checked it out, you should. Oh I also did a Vlog on my bookshelves, but I'm not sure it turned out so good cause my electricity is still off at my apt, and the lighting in there sucks. I might still post the video later, and then just re-do it sometime because I'm sure I'll have added to it, and I kind of need to re-arrange it better. What else to say.....





My goodies!



Look at my goodies I won from The Story Siren. I actually just thought I was going to get the book, but in my package was all the coolio bookmarks, some signed others not. Then a post card for the book forget me nots by Amy White, and a sticker of the claire de lune book (which I want to read). I always get things at the right time because yesterday was a crappy day for me, and opening this package was fun. The excitiement that I had is in my upcoming IMM for Sunday which has me opening the package and discovering the stuff, and then me showing each one. A first win is always the coolest.



Well I broke-down when I went to Walmart tonight to get milk because that's all I needed, but that's not all I got. It wasn't books either. Hehehe. I bought Season 1 of the Vampire Diaries. I started to watch the season when it first came on, but I never could watch them all so I gave up and waited for it to come out. Plus I can't stand watching tv because the signals or what not are crappy, and mess up then I want to throw stuff at the tv. (Tv remotes don't work when you bang them on the tv) It was actually a toss-up between this or True Blood Season 2 (I have true blood s1) I'll probably wind up getting that one later.

I Know I'm very talkative this week huh? I'm also on a picture spree.

I'm about to pass out again getting up at at 8am and going to bed at 4am is not smart, I know but I continue to do it to myself. Hope you had fun reading all of this post if you did. :)

Well I figure I'd actually do this one this week. :) I actually just found this book because the author had followed me on Twitter. When I went to check it out, and took a sneak peak with chpts 1 and 2 it immediately drew me into the story. First it's set in Las Vegas granted I've never been there it sounds like an incredible place to visit. This has what every good book has some possible romance between Dario (who happens to be prince to the Mob throne, mysterious, alluring, and maybe a little bit of a softy?) and Taylor is moving From England to L.V because her dad has a new job, and despite everything she has these odd dreams of someone who she has never met. Hum? Does that catch your attention.
This book is Vegas Dazzle by Pam Langsam.

Book to Movie News: The Hunger Games

Wow it's a never-ending week with all these awesome post about our YA books to movies. SOOOO with that being said. The Hunger Games finally has a release date MARCH 23, 2012 

I know, I know I should be the last person to be excited for this because of my thoughts toward the 1st book. ( I have yet to read the second and third which I have both now. So I will get to them!) Still I think it would make an awesome movie just like a lot of the other books I think would too. I'm not against the book at all. I did grow to like the last half of it. Being able to see Katniss, Gale, Peeta, and all the other Tributes in movie form.

Never heard of The Hunger Games, or are a little late in the game (like me :) ) Here's a little bit about the trilogy.

Lionsgate has announced to EW that The Hunger Games, the highly anticipated adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ futuristic YA thriller about scrapper Katniss Everdeen and her fight to survive a brutal reality TV contest, will be released on March 23, 2012. Director Gary Ross recently revealed to EW that he aims to go into production of the first installment of Collins’ trilogy later this spring.

(I don't think I'm to happy with this comparison. I've said it before, and I'll say it again every book is different in it's own way. Yes, the premiss or whatnot might be similar however, not the same. I think this really, REALLY holds true with these two books. They are complete opposites. Except for maybe a weird love triangle. I don't know. One is based on the supernatural beings we all have grown to love, and a world we live in well besides the above mentioned S.B. The other  is on a completely different level. It's a new world we've never seen. Be it the futuristic America, and it has tons more action, and dare I say killing. Please tell me where it has room to be compared? As for the rating system I couldn't careless. I'm sure it will be good whether be "R" rated or "PG-13" rated. After all young teens have read the book they should be allowed to see the film. :) Just an opinion.

2. Why Gary Ross got the coveted job, and who suggested Megan Fox for the lead role! Here.
(OMG! I'm sorry I saw Megan Fox's name and had to click on. I was going to be pissed if that was a thought for the casting. I'm sorry but I'm not a fan of hers. She was okay in Transformers, but that's about it. I think what either him or the lady (can't remeber) says is true it would be nice to see an unknown play the parts just for the simple fact that we  already have in our minds what  huge stars like M.F should play. They already have connections with so many other characters that it wouldn't feel right if she or any others were to take on the katniss role. We want to be able to relate with Katniss' character, and see a fresh face with it.)
