My Prince Charming

The statement above couldn't be more true. It was written as a status on Ryans facebook to me, as you can tell from the last part. :)

This is the reason why, I know, I've found my prince charming. The one who despite those stormy moments, I may have, will always be there to see that I'm okay. To wipe the tears away when I cry, to make me smile when others make me frown. He will be the Edward to my Bella, Charming to my Cinderella, Prince Eric to my Ariel, the Beauty to my Beast. In other words, the one who will make up my happily ever after.

I just felt the need to share this with you all. I actually a few other things he had written to me in text, but that phone was damaged, and I had to send it in for a new one. Even though we have our moments where we're, shall I say, fed up with each other, we will always find a way to make it work. If you love someone don't give up on them during their bad times, be there for them, let them know that they don't have to go at it alone. I know when I've had a bad day it's nice to come home, and have Ryan here to sit beside me and listen, or rub my back to calm me down when I've been crying. How I've made the past 26 years without him I don't know.

MY THOUGHTS
Two awesome series merging to form this little novella. I absolutely adore Ally Carter's writing. Her characters are always so fun, sarcastic, and enjoyable. I don't know why more authors don't try and merge some of their highly enjoyable series together. I mean yes they do the spin offs like Vampire academy and bloodlines, but eh. Then again maybe it's just the way Ally Carter delivers her stories and is able to do so flawlessly in my opinion.

As much as I loved Cammie and the other girls in the gallagher girls books it was fun to see Macey out and on her own, and then to add Hale and Kat from Heist Society was the icing on the cake.

You really don't have to read the other books to read this short story, but I guarentee once you read this one you'll want to learn more about them in their natural surroundings. Hale and Kat with their friends cooking up jewelry/art heists or Macey with Cammie, Bex, and Liz at the Gallagher Academy for the
gifted.

Book Review: Slide by Jill Hathaway

MY THOUGHTS
What would it be like to slide into someones mind and see what they're seeing? To know things about them that no one else does? Well for Vee it's as easy as touching something that a person has an emotional connection too. In some ways I think it would be neat to see what others see. You could actually say I've walked the mile in that persons shoes. Then there's that feeling of  "oh no" invading someones privacy is just wrong. What if you could help find a killer though?


Vee knows that Sophie didn't kill herself, that it was murder, but how do you tell people that when you can't really explain how you know.

So begins the mystery and unraveling of the classic who dun it scenerio. A teacher with a history to hide, a new kid who's too friendly, a best friend who's been distant, backstabbing friends, an ex. I absolutely adore mysteries, before reading YA that was my poison, when I read it was the likes of Mary Higgins Clark. What better way to enjoy a book then to have a mystery wrapped up with a little paranormal twist.


Slide was one of those mysteries where you're thinking it's got to be this person. I mean no one else has "that killer vibe", but then when you find out who it is...it just throws you for a loop. Jill Hathaway did an awesome job at keeping you on your toes, keeping you wanting to know, keeping you guessing. Even with the supposed suicide/ killer on the loose Ms. Hathaway managed to squeeze in a bit of romance between our main character and you guessed it the mysterious new kid.


Definitely can't wait to read the next book Imposter.

MY THOUGHTS
I've had Matched sitting on my shelf for a bit, and never really gave it any thought. it just didn't seem to have that appeal to me. Now that I've read it, I wish I could say that I should have read it sooner, but truth be told I can't. While there were a few parts where I felt the need to write some passage out so that I could remember it for this review the story itself just didn't hit the OMG level. You know that level right? Where you just can't believe you went that long without it? I can usually overlook the "eh" factor (Eh= I really could care less) I have if either the characters or plot line interest me, but Matched had neither. 

It just didn't Match up. Yes...yes I took it there. :) 

I don't want this review to be all negative Nancy. I try not to DNF any book even if it's v.e.r.y s.l.o.w because usually the ending is what keeps you hooked, and maybe that was part of the problem it just seemed to trudge along. I really would have liked it better had I been able to be in Ky's head most the time. He was the only character I truly cared to learn anything about. His story is what was interesting to me. Cassia just seemed like another girl trying to please her society knowing it was wrong. What was up with the society anyways? We hardly learned anything about them in my opinion.

Here's the deal even though I didn't enjoy this book I always try to give them the benefit of the doubt by reading the next book because maybe we'll learn more. Plus, I have a hard time just reading one book in the series if I start it I'm likely going to finish it.

Here are some passages that I did enjoy:

"I thought about Angels." I say.
"Angels?"
"You know. The ones in the old stories. How they can fly to heaven."
"Do you think anyone believes in them anymore?" he asks.
"I don't know. No. Do you?"
"I believe in you." he syas, his voice hushed and almost reverent. "That's more faith than I ever thought I'd have." -Page 273 Cassia and Ky

"There." I say, and he looks at what I've written.
I love you.
Why are some things easier to write than say?
"You don't have to write it back." I say. "I just wanted you to know."
"I don't want to write it back," he tells me. And then he says it, right out there on the Hill, and of all the words I have hidden and saved and treasured, these are the ones I will never forget, the most important ones of all.
"I love you." Page 275

Like a secret told, a promise kept.


Even if it hurts, I have to tell him. Because either way, whichever life I build, has to be built on truth. page 300

My face fits perfectly into the spot against his shoulder, near his neck, where I can both hear his heart and smell his skin. I'm safe here too. page 315 This reminds me of when I hug Ryan because he's taller then me and I fit into his shoulders as well, and it does feel safe.

Book Review: The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith

MY THOUGHTS
It should have been the worse day in Hadley's life, she missed her flight which was taking her to her dad's wedding in London, and to the start of a new life for him, and the ending to her family. One little missed plane turns everything around.

Before, you move on to reading what's sure to be a gushing review, I'm just going to say be prepared for references to Ryan because I pretty much thought about him while reading it. 

If you haven't read TSPoLaFS (sorry the name is too freakin' long to type out) then you're missing out. For a book that happens in a 24 hour period it does a wonderful job of showing who the characters are and what they're going through. I wish I could have been that person sitting in the chair next to Oliver and Hadley, or heck even the fly they shooed away. I freakin' adored Hadley and Oliver even before the story started I wanted them to end up together, and be happy. Did it happen? You'll have to read it. (Does anyone else skip to the back of the book to see if what you want to happen...happens? Or is that just me?) Anyways, Hadley definitely had her issues at the beginning of the story, but by the end I think she realized things could have been worse for her. I love that characters can grow so much in so little time. Oliver I adored just as much. He kept Hadley concentrating on other things and just being there for her.

The chemistry just seemed to work for them, and yes even if it was a little insta-love there was still enough of that genuine feel to it that it didn't ruin anything. I mean who doesn't want to believe in love at first sight. 

Ever have that book that makes you stop and remember something that happened in your life that was like wow, what if it had happened differently? That's what TSPoLaFS did to me. It made me think well what if I never had transferred from my old store to the new one back a few years ago. Then I would have never met Ryan. I would have never found that person I want to spend my life with. Maybe, I'm exaggerating. Maybe, I'm not it's all really just chance when you think about it. But I owe that little bit of chance a lot because I found that one person I would do anything for and I know he would do anything for me.

Jennifer Smith's writing was also something that made this book so enjoyable. Just the little passages that I found were so heartfelt, and I could easily relate to them.

Some quotes I liked:
-In the end, it's not the changes that will break your heart, it's that tug of familiarity-pg 19

-It seems impossible that she could have liked someone like Mitchell when there was someone like this guy in the world, someone tall, and lanky, with tousled hair, and startling green eyes, and a speck of mustard on his chin, like the one small imperfection that makes the whole painting work somehow. Is it possible not to ever know your type---not even know you have a type--until quite suddenly you do? -pg 31 I think I liked this one because it reminded me so  much of Ryan.
