Waiting on Wed: Fall with Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout

released yet.
Author: Jennifer Armentrout
Expected publication: March 31st 2015 by Avon Books

Eleven months ago, bartender and weird-shirt-wearing extraordinaire Roxy and Officer Reece Anders had a one night stand. Well, kind of. She’s been in love with him since she was fifteen, and he wishes that night they shared never happened. She’s sworn him off forever, but the past and future collide, forcing her to rely on the one man who broke her heart not once, but twice.

Her best friend since birth has been in a long-term care facility since he became a victim of a hate crime years ago, and the person who put him in there is out of prison and wanting to make amends with him and Roxy. She’s not sure she has room for forgiveness in her and when she begins to receive frightening messages and is on the receiving end of escalating violence, she thinks she knows who is to blame. The man who already destroyed one life already.

But Reece isn’t convinced. The threats are too personal, and even if Roxy doesn’t believe him, he’s not willing to let anyone hurt her. Including himself. He’s already messed up more than once when it comes to Roxy and he’s not going to let history repeat itself.
Why I'm waiting on this?

Book Review: Stay With Me by J.Lynn

AUTHOR: J. Lynn (Jennifer L. Armentrout
PUBLISHER: William Morrow Paperbacks
SERIES/STANDALONE: Series(wait for you, Be with me)
PAGES: 448
SOURCE: Edelweiss via publisher

Outline:
At 21, Calla hasn’t done a lot of things. She’s never been kissed, never seen the ocean, never gone to an amusement park. But growing up, she witnessed some things no child ever should. She still carries the physical and emotional scars of living with a strung-out mother, Mona—secrets she keeps from everyone, including her close circle of college friends.

But the safe cocoon Calla has carefully built is shattered when she discovers her mom has stolen her college money and run up a huge credit card debt in her name. Now, Calla has to go back to the small town she thought she'd left behind and clean up her mom’s mess again. Of course, when she arrives at her mother’s bar, Mona is nowhere to be found. Instead, six feet of hotness named Jackson James is pouring drinks and keeping the place humming.

Sexy and intense, Jax is in Calla’s business from the moment they meet, giving her a job and helping her search for Mona. And the way he looks at her makes it clear he wants to get horizontal . . . and maybe something more. Before Calla can let him get close, though, she’s got to deal with the pain of the past—and some very bad guys out to mess her up if she doesn’t give them her mom.

Quick Thought (or not)
Oh, J.Lynn, how I love this series. I think I like this series so much because it reminds me of Katie McGarrys Pushing the Limits books (and I love those books). The Wait for You series is just one of those series you find yourself invested in because the characters aren't perfect. The characters are real, they're flawed, they have problems, and sometimes you see yourself in them. They are characters you can fully relate to. I'm pretty sure throughout the book I was nodding yes to things. Like the quote below. Nick is so much like me when it comes to talking, and I'll try to explain this to people, and they think I'm being a bitch because I don't talk. It's not that at all, I'll say what I have to, and that's that. I'm not a bullshitter (husbands word meaning you can talk about nothing and anything)
"It wasn't that he came across rude. More like the kind of guy who didn't talk unless he had something he wanted to say.- Calla talking about Nick"
I really felt bad for Calla because of what her mother put her through, and although I don't know exactly how that feels I had a friend whose mother did the same thing. Opening up accounts in her daughters name, taking money from her daughter people really are like this and it sucks. I guess the only way to get through something like that is stay calm (easier said then done) and have people around you who care and will help you. Calla definitely had all that, and more. There were people who meant her harm because of her mom, but Calla's family friends never backed down and made sure nothing happened to her. Oh, and those people that did. Jax to name one.

Like I said, you're safe with me. Whenever. Seriously. Whatever you want to explore, you'll always be safe with me.

Book Review: Wait for You by J.Lynn

AUTHOR: J. Lynn
PUBLISHER: E-book
PAGES: 332
STAND ALONE/SERIES: Series
SOURCE: bought
OUTLINE:

Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

THOUGHTS
I've read a few of Jennifer Armentrouts books (okay just her covenant series) and I didn't really have a connection with those characters, or the story because of some issues I had with it. (see review for half-blood) So my expectations weren't high for this one either. I know I'm sorry. Keeping reading on though. :) I thought since I'm kind of in this NA mood I would try, and read something a little different from her. Can I just say..........OOOMMMGGG!  I loved Wait for You. From the beginning when Avery ran into Cam before class to the very end.

The story itself was really like any other girl meets boy, girl and boy become friends, boy and girl have problems they hide from each other. As I continued to read the story I felt connected to Avery. I felt like I knew some of the stuff she was going through.
He turned, his eyes clear as glass. "There's a lot I don't know about you and I hope we fix that, I'm not going to push you, but you can't shut me out. Okay. You have to trust me."
This is exactly how my husband (but at the time boyfriend) sounded when we got together, and to be honest I think it's still kind of like this. I'm a very guarded person.

I love being able to identify with any of the characters in some way because it makes them feel more real to me. Like someone else knows what I've been through, or am going through. The relationship with Avery and Cam wasn't rushed at all either. You know sometimes when the boy and girl run into each other it's like BAM! makeout  time, or you're the one I've been searching for. None of that happened. Oh, and no meeting inside a classroom. It was outside the door to the classroom. LOL. I had to throw that in. In all seriousness though they had a friendship before having anything else, and that's always nice to see when so many books just rush right into things. It was even nicer to see Avery constantly telling him no it wasn't gonna happen, and even with her rejecting him he still stayed around. what a guy. -swoon- Sometimes the best things in life you have to work for or wait for. Awww see what I did there "Wait for"

So while the storyline was pretty generic it was the love of the characters that really did it for me.

Don't tell Ryan, but Cam I want you to Be with Me. :) (Yes, it was another tie in for the second book)

Some awesome moments:
Cam and Avery texting each other:
"The response was almost immediate. If u were Pinocchio, ur nose would span the state.
Crossing my legs, I leaned against my headboard. Pinocchio? Sounds like your reading level.
Ha U wound me. Deeply.
 Thought you didn't have feelings?
I lied. I have so many feels for u.
Before I could respond, another text came through. When I lie something else grows on me.."

Avery's friend Brit talking with Avery and Cam:
Oh, You know, mischief and mayhem. He replied.
That so reminds me of Harry Potter. Brit said sighing. I need a reread.
We all turned to her.
Two bright spots appeared in her cheeks as she tossed her blonde hair back. What? I'm not ashamed to admit that random things remind me of Harry Potter.
