MY THOUGHTS

This review is from notes I had.

Going into this book I had high hopes that it was going to be awesome. Why would I do that when it might just break my heart? Have you read the synopsis? It was a different take on angels and sometimes subjects need to have a new or fresh perspective in order to keep a readers attention (or is that just my attention).

So where am I going with this and what's my point. My point is that while at first I was confused with what was happening and the mix of all the characters just kind of popping up. I thought this is going to be hard for me to follow and I'll lose interest and that is when all my excitement for the book was lost. I didn't want it to be because it had potential. I'm not a DNF, quick to give up type reader. It's really hard for me to give on a book because I feel if I start it I should give the author a chance to wow me. (I mean sometimes the best parts are at the end.) So I figured maybe it was just my mood. So I put the book down for a few days.

After coming back to the story I can say I began to like it, I didn't love it, but it's better than just hating it. As the story unfolded I began to see the characters more clearly. I don't remember being to thrilled with Eden as a character.

1. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
   If you haven't read this book you need too. I loved it to pieces, but I could be biased because I love just about anything dealing with superpowers. :)
2. Enclave by Ann Agguire
   I've only read the first book (I need to get reading the others) I enjoyed the first one and the trailer to it was so movie like to me that if I didn't know any better I would have thought thats what it was.Check my review out for the Book Trailer.
3. Any of the Gallagher Girl books by Ally Carter
   I think this would make either a good tv show or a few movies. I mean who doesn't love kick-ass teenager spies.
4. Hex hall books by Rachel hawkins
   The characters alone would make the movies.
5. The day before by Lisa Schroeder
   This would make a good movie because it all happens within a day or so and it makes for a good storyline
6. Nightworld Series by L.J Smith
   I think it would a good tv series because there's 3 or so so stories in each book and each story and book is woven together nicely.
7. Never eighteen by Megan Bostic
   Would be a good movie. It shows the MC going around making his last wishes and making amends for things he did.
8. The Four horsemen of the Apocalypse books by Jackie Morse Kessler. They deal with real world problems like cutting, anorexia, and those are just the two I've read. They would make for good movies.
9. Any of the Ellen Hopkins books (Crank, Identical)Again they would make some good movies I think.
10. The Lovecraft middle school books by Charles
    I think these would be cute movies for the younger audience.

MY THOUGHTS:
I finally finished this after a week of trying to read it. This has absolutely nothing to do with the book itself. Actually, I loved this book more then I did,  A Touch Mortal, it's first book. I'm not sure if it's because it kept me interested in what was going on or what. I think it was because I was more aware of how their worlds worked and who was who and what was what if that makes any sense at all. I had a hard time following the first one, but that's for another review that I never got to (which I will because I'm thinking of re-reading it.)

I think the reason I enjoyed this one a bit more was because of the pacing, and by that I mean not everything happened at once. It didn't feel rushed. We didn't know to much about one character, and we would get a glimpse of what was happening with character B but not the full on. (Sorry I'm trying not ruin the first book for those who haven't read it) we got to see more of the fallen and the bound.

As for the characters themselves I liked a few of them and then some I didn't care to much for. I liked the new character Sullivan more then the older characters. I'm trying so hard not to mention the characters because in my opinion it gives away some of book one. I will say that I don't particularly care for Eden she seems a little stuck up, and thinking she better then everyone else.

You will definitely want to check it out, and if you haven't read the first do so. I haven't reviewed A Touch Mortal yet, but I have read it. I might just have to read it again before this one comes out.

Cover Reveals: So Pretty!

I haven't posted very much, but these new book covers caught my attention. I know you've all probably seen them, but I must show them in all their awesome-ness.

 

Ok, I read the first book maybe a month or so ago. (I still need to do my review) I did enjoy it. It did take me a awhile to get into and understand it. However that didn't stop me from liking it. I'm eagerly awaiting the second book. I love when covers keep to a theme and can match the one before it. The cover is beautiful I actually like these colors better then the first one. :) You can go to good reads and add it to your TBR list.  I'm interested to see what the synopsis will be like.

Alright, grant it I haven't actually read these books. (I do have all of them.) I still love the covers. They're intriguing.
