This is a tag that tons of booktubers around this time of the year to kind of show where we're at in our reading, and all though I've wanted to do it in the past I never did. This will be my first (and hopefully not last) year to do it.
If you don't want to watch the videos for my answers then I will leave them below.
I will either link them to their goodreads page or to my review.
13 Questions:
1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2019.
Heir of Fire by Sarah. J Maas
This was the 3rd book in the series, and if definitely caught my attention more than the first two.
2. Best sequel you've read so far in 2019.
Finale by Stephanie Garber
This is also the third book in a series, and it was OMG all the happiness. (it was also the only sequel I think I've read because I'm horrible at reading sequels)
3. New release you haven't read yet, but want to.
The Wicked King by Holly Black
Like I said horrible reading sequels, but I did finally buy it so I'll end up reading this soon because I adored The Cruel Prince
4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year.
House of Salt and Sorrow by Erin A. Craig
It sounds mysterious and dark. Definitely a plus for me!
5. Biggest disappointment.
The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert (review)
It was interesting, but I was confused and just didn't connect with the characters.
6. Biggest surprise.
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black (review)
Fairy books are usually a hit or a miss for me and when I read Holly Black other fae books I didn't enjoy so going into this one I had low expectations. As you can tell though I actually enjoyed it
7. Favorite new author. (Debut or new to you)
8. Newest fictional crush.
Jesse from Jesse's girl by Miranda Kenneally (review)
Something about Jesse that made him so sweet.
9. Newest favourite character.
Prince Casimir from Ruined by Amy Tintera
Even though he is supposed to be this hardass king once his dad is gone we start to learn that maybe he has this softer side, and maybe he can learn to care for others.
10. Book that made you cry.
Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
I'm not a bigger cry when I read books, but there are parts in stories that make me very emotional, and with this story, it definitely happened. Miles Archer is the somewhat love interest and his background story is heartbreaking to read.
11. Book that made you happy.
Bookish Boyfriends: The Boy Next Story by Tiffany Schmidt (review)
This was just such a fun and cute story with family dynamics I loved and then the happily ever after.
12. Most beautiful book you've bought so far this year (or received)
King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
Without the dust jacket, it is amazing and gold and black and pretty.
13. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
Capturing the Devil by Kerri Maniscalco- I loved the other 3 in this series
Maybe this time by Kasie West- I'm just a kasie west fan
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer- because it's been on my shelf for too long.
The sun is also a star by Nicola Yoon- I want to read it before watching the movie.
