Waiting on Wed is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine
It's something that she does every Wed where we pick a book that hasn't been released yet.

Author: Megan Crewe
Hardcover, 336 pages
Expected publication: October 28, 2014 by Razorbill
Seventeen-year-old Skylar has been haunted for as long as she can remember by fleeting yet powerful sensations that something is horribly wrong. But despite the panic attacks tormenting her, nothing ever happens, and Sky’s beginning to think she’s crazy.
Then she meets a mysterious, otherworldly boy named Win and discovers the shocking truth her premonitions have tapped into: our world no longer belongs to us.
For thousands of years, Earth has been at the mercy of alien scientists who care nothing for its inhabitants and are using us as the unwitting subjects of their time-manipulating experiments.
Win belongs to a rebel faction seeking to put a stop to it, and he needs Skylar’s help--but with each shift in the past, the very fabric of reality is unraveling, and soon there may be no Earth left to save.
Why am I waiting on this?
Aliens! Can't that be the only reason? No, well I haven't read many alien books, and that's partly (ok it's all my fault) I have quite a few of them sitting on my shelf, but I think it has to be the right alien-ish book to make me want to read the others. Does that make sense? Like if you read a vampire book, and don't like it then you're reluctant to read any others. Let's say you find a really good fairy tale retelling than that makes you want to go and look for more retellings right?
I know what you mean. I've been burned too many times by vampire books that I can't still read about them until now. Like you, I don't read many alien books and the only books I've enjoyed depicting them are The 5th Wave and Obsidian. Thanks for sharing, Ashley. I'd definitely look out for this one. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's the first time I hear of this book but I can tell that I fell in love with the cover and the colors <3
