I've been thinking about getting this and reading it to see what the big deal is. I've read on other bloggers sites that the refuse to read it just because, but I have a co-worker who said it's normally something she wouldn't read, but she enjoyed it. Then a few of us got into a discussion about it. My problem with listening to her is I'm not sure what kind of books interest her other then that. I wanted to turn to my readers and followers to see if you all have read this, or just to see what your thoughts are about it. I'm more inclined to listen to you guys just because I know what ya'lls interest are (sorta). It's also funny because a few weeks back I was listening to one of our local radio stations, and they were talking about it, and how they could read it on air a clean version of course. Wanna see them reading it. (Video below) or go to Kiddnation.com. I also see that it might turn into a movie. I'm just curious.
If you haven't watched this yet. Do so! They use movie titles in places where it gets a little explicit.
Well, I don't read erotica, so I won't read this. But as a writer, it bothers me that fan fiction is being published. It feels a little unfair to the original work.
ReplyDeleteI read it, for the same reason you're thinking about it. I was just curious. Three books later and I'm in love. It's a bit strange and frustrating sometimes, and the MC and her man are annoying at some times, but the story line is great. Some people dont like it, but If you were okay with the frustratingness that was bella and edward at times ("does he love me, doesnt he love me?, I'm only trying to protect you") then you will love this! I know it began as Fan Fiction, but it morphed wayyy wayyy beyond that. If I hadnt heard that it was fan fiction, I wouldnt even know by reading it. There are a few staple twilight scenes, but they're done differently and not as cheesy. You should totally read it.
ReplyDeleteWell, I just started it this morning and as of 4PM am about 2/3's of the way through. Though I don't read erotica on a regular basis (or even a semi regular basis), this has been an eye opening read. And though there are definitely some erotic scenes in it, it (so far) seems to be more character driven and I've enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI actually had no idea it was fan fiction until now. Thanks for ya'lls input. I might have to try it out.
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this discussion? I have been tossing up whether to read this one as well. But then I heard it was Twilight fan fiction and you know how I feel about Twilight. And then I read a snippet of the book and couldn't stomach it. Not that there's anything wrong with erotica. I just didn't like the story. You know how intolerant I am of most plots :)
ReplyDeleteI think the best thing to do is give it a try yourself. If nothing else, it'll give you a good laugh at the absurdity if you don't like it.
Sherre: I knew you'd like it! *shakes head* You Twilight fan you!
lol..I'm sure you have alot on your plate Lan. I probably will get it just to see what it's like. Even my friend said she started reading it and it was interesting, and I know how much she doesn't like to read.
